SBHS CANON PERDIDO SIGN GOES UP!
SBHS has a new sign to welcome students, parents, staff, alumni and visitors onto campus from the Canon Perdido Street entrance. The sign was a joint project of the SBHS Alumni Association AND the Class of 2015. Pictured below are installers of the sign (left to right) Jed Hendrickson, Class of 1977 (and owner of Santa Barbara Monumental...they made the sign), Ausustin "Augie" Ortiz, Class of 1972, and Kim Marks. The base of the sign was formed and poured by Kenny Construction.

Dear Fellow Alumni and Friends,
Think back to your time at SBHS and especially the time we all spent in Peabody Stadium—Friday nights under the lights cheering for the Dons football and soccer teams, spring Track and Field meets, Cross Country finishes, Pep Rallies, Halloween carnivals, Band and Donette performances and walking down the hill into Peabody Stadium at graduation. Today’s Dons have many of the same memories, but the track and field are no longer CIF regulation and the 1924 stadium is in disrepair and could quite possibly be condemned. Our aging stadium is 90 years old and your Alumni Association, along with the Foundation for Santa Barbara High School, need your help to BUILD PEABODY STADIUM!
The Executive Board of the Alumni Association has endorsed the campaign to name the plaza at the south end of Peabody Stadium in honor of our alumni (see Plaza A at the center of the brochure). This naming opportunity costs $250,000.00 and can be funded over four years. We are excited about the possibilities for the plaza as a gathering place for alumni and friends before and after games and reunion events.
The Class of 2015 will be the last to graduate in the stadium as we know and love it, but we think you will be thrilled by the design of the new Peabody Stadium. It is desperately needed and will only enhance the education of our students and the legacy of Dons sports. Please carefully and thoughtfully review the Foundation for SBHS's Peabody Renovation ibrochure and then take this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to honor SBHS and Peabody Stadium.
